Our family are all avid readers so a Book Shop was a mandatory shop in my "Cynthia Village"!! LOVE the three little buildings in my little village...which, I'm afraid is probably going to turn into a town...then maybe a city....hummm....so hard to resist! The detail is wonderful and they are as charming in person as they are in pictures!

As a birder, my village couldn't be complete without a bird in a tree! So Sweet!!

I just love these two little houses that I purchased to go with an earlier house purchase, thereby having a little village of three. They are a little pick-me-up and definitely bring a smile to my face.

About

Out of the earth is born an appreciation for Mother Nature’s bounty

I live and work from a cozy little nest in a lovely valley of rolling green pastures and fruit orchards within the breathtakingly beautiful State of West Virginia. I spent my childhood playing in the hills and streams in this wonderful landscape. I believe my desire to create wildlife art and work with clay, and indeed my intense love of nature, was born out of those early days swinging from wild grapevine, hunting the elusive Pink Ladyslipper and sinking my toes in clay bottomed creeks.

To be able to draw from those memories of wildflowers and woodland animals, and then render them in a form to be appreciated, is truly a gift from Heaven above. Each piece of my ceramic art is fashioned by hand from rolled out slabs of clay, then molded by my imagination and colored with inspiration from my gardens and the many species of birds and other wildlife that inhabit them.

My hope is that my ceramic art will be enjoyed like an old quilt that has been handed down from one generation to the next. But most of all that it inspires you to love all animals and nature, as I do.

***My Woodland Animal and Garden-Inspired Paintings, Prints, Notecards and Jewelry are available in my other Etsy shop: CynthiaCranesArt (www.etsy.com/shop/cynthiacranesart)
