Child at Heart

I began drawing as a child, and my memories of that time are still vivid to me. I can still remember being excited by a new set of crayons, sketchbook, or colored pencils that my mother would buy for me. I was fascinated by all things colorful, pretty and cute. That excitement has never left me, and after receiving a degree in Illustration, I came to the realization that the world of children’s picture books was where I belonged.

I opened my Etsy shop in 2011 when people began to ask me how they can buy my children’s illustrations.

I’ve always loved making things, so it felt like a natural extension to open up a shop where I could sell prints, greeting cards, or anything else that reflected my work. Whenever I create something new, I always ask myself, would I like this? Would I wear this? If the answer is no, then it’s back to the drawing board.

I paint and create in a small corner of my living room. It’s compact for sure, but very cozy. Sometimes I listen to music while I work, other times I like being able to hear my budgies chirping from the other room.
