The Story of Jazzy Makes

Jazzy Makes is a collection of vibrant and unique art jewellery made by me, Jasmine Avery in the beautiful Blue Mountains, Australia. I have always been a lover of colour, and a maker in one form or another, I enjoy trying my hand at most art forms but this particular range of products began as a mother-daughter collaboration when I was inspired to turn my two year old daughter's finger painting into a unique style of wearable art. I was constantly amazed at the beauty in the messy squiggles she made as she played with colour, smearing paint onto paper, and as I was experimenting with resin at the time, I developed a way to turn her squiggles into unique jewellery pieces. Each piece features a selection of an original painting by either Astrid or myself on a laser cut wood shape with coats of glossy resin to make the colours really pop. You can trust that all my jewellery is entirely one of a kind, as no two strokes are created equal, so no-one will ever have exactly the same item as you, which is a special feeling.

Every piece is hand painted with multiple layers of glue and resin, requiring 6-12 hours of waiting time between coats, so the process from start to finish can take up to a week. Blessed with the curse of perfectionism, I am always striving to make my pieces the absolute best quality they can be, in saying that my favourite thing about handmade is that small imperfections prove pieces are not made on a factory line and mean they are always one-of-a-kind. It’s a wonderful feeling to shop small and to know that the items you purchase have been carefully created with love by hand in the warm home of a maker rather than a sterile, heartless warehouse. Making is my passion and my therapy, I need to do it daily to feel sane amongst the daily demands of life, work and kids, so I hope you enjoy my humble creations.

Custom orders are welcome, I would also love to turn your child’s artwork into a beautiful, wearable keepsake for you, please see my custom order listing or send me a message for more information.

Delivery
I use Australia Post for all shipping and items are posted within 1-3 business days, though I aim to post items within 24 hours of receiving payment if possible. For customers within Australia I automatically send via regular post. If you need an item express posted or would like it registered or insured please contact me and this can be arranged at an extra cost. Some smaller items do not coming with tracking, making them more economical to post. If your item has a shipping cost listed under $5, and you would like tracking please select it as an upgrade at checkout.

Regular post generally takes between 2-7 business days within Australia depending on your location (excluding unexpected Australia Post delays).

For international customers items will be shipped via Australia Post at an airmail rate. Generally items take up to 2 weeks to arrive when posted from Australia, but please be aware that occasionally customs may delay items by 6 weeks or longer – although this has never happened to me before. The buyer is responsible for any unexpected customs charges or taxes - if you're in Europe especially please check there will be no customs charges. Items can be express posted internationally at an extra cost if you need your items quicker, please convo me.

I will ship to the address on your Etsy account, so please make sure it is up to date or convo me straight away if you need it posted to a different address. If your item is a gift I can post directly to the recipient and would be happy to gift wrap and include a personalised note from you, please let me know :)

It is very hard to accurately quote the cost of posting multiple items. If postage and handling ends up costing less than quoted I will always refund you the difference.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please be aware that while I try my hardest to represent colours accurately, it can be difficult to photograph colours exactly as they appear in real life, and computer screens may also alter tones slightly. that colours can appear slightly different in photos and on computer screens.

Please contact me if you want any information about wholesaling, custom or bulk orders. I would love to help :)
