About

Handmade flower seed bombs, candles and other nature-inspired favours and gifts, for a beautifully imperfect wedding day and special occasion ☀ 🌙

Little Mellow is an Australian-owned small business crafting organic, nature inspired favours for a rustic, beautifully imperfect wedding day.

Today's weddings and parties are breaking away from traditional, break-the-budget affairs to making the day personalised, Eco-conscious and affordable. Little Mellow embraces this move, not only because mother earth needs our help, but the natural and unaffected beauty in nature's offerings are really appealing, and it shouldn't have to cost the earth.

Little Mellow's handmade favours and gifts are truly a labour of love. From my signature Flower Seed Bombs to the candles and labelling, all products are created and packed with real hands and care ~ for a beautifully imperfect wedding day and special occasion ☀ 🌙~

NATURE, MAGIC AND GLITTERY THINGS
Growing up, I loved making little things, particularly 'magical' things like faerie houses, and secret potions. My favourite shop was called 'Penny Moon', which I still miss dearly. All the faeries, witches and sparkles I could ever want. It was a ritual of mine to visit the shop, at least once a week. In fact, I still own a black, beaded shawl from Penny Moon. It adorns my mantle-piece above the fireplace. I believe my passion to make beautiful things grew from my frequent visits to that shop. I was under its spell :) and still am.

My passion to create gifts, grew stronger after having my 2 wildflowers, Sarah and Jack. I started out, in 2012, making candles from scratch, and since then I have grown the business organically to where it is today. I handcraft each of my products and ship them to homes and business all around the country, and overseas, for all sorts of events and celebrations.

INSPIRATION
First and foremost, my children, husband and family inspire me everyday to love, create and daydream.

I am inspired by nature in a big way. Its smells, light, textures, and the way all its green glows after it rains.

I have to be honest, making, creating labels, packaging and shipping can be exhausting. Particularly with a stack of dishes and piles of laundry to clean, not to mention, being the best mum I can be! But, I stay inspired by the 5 star reviews I have collected over the years. When I’m feeling worn thin, especially during wedding season, I take a few minutes to read some of my reviews that lovely customers have left on my Etsy shop. Sometimes, in fact most times, I make a large cup of coffee, and sit outside my workshop, and fixate on nature's magic, especially after it rains 😊

I am always adding new products, drawing inspiration from frequent requests and suggestions, so please never hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for visiting my shop. I hope I can bring a little magic to your special day!

With love, light and blessings☀🌙

FIRE SAFTEY & CANDLES

CANDLES ARE LABELED FOR FIRE SAFETY. Little Mellow is committed to the safety of candles and candle users.

Look for the warning label, located on the base of the candle, and read it carefully before burning a candle. It’s the first step to ensuring your safety.

Taken from Australia & New Zealand Candle Association Limited (ANZCAL), as at 2017, the 3 basic safety rules:

1. Never leave a burning candle unattended

2. Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire

3. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

How to burn a candle safely before lighting a candle

• Trim wick to ¼ inch each time before burning.

• Be sure the candle-holder is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface, to help prevent heat damage to surfaces.

• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings & matches at all times.

• Keep burning candles away from drafts, ceiling fans & air currents, to help prevent rapid, uneven burning & sooting.

• Don’t burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the container. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a container candle when 1½ cm remains.

• Extinguish a candle if it flame smokes, flickers or is ĺtoo high.  The candle isn’t burning properly. Cool, trim wick, check for drafts before relighting.

• Never use a candle as a night light.
