5 out of 5 starsReally enjoyed this book. A brutal and honest account of what it's like to walk the Te Araroa Trail. We follow Michelle and her ever loyal partner, Jack, as they go through the ups and downs of the TA trail. Very well written with frequent references to relevant cultural issues along the way and an education in New Zealand flora and bird life. Written with humour, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone interested in the TA.

5 out of 5 starsMichelle's writing makes you feel like you're on the trail yourself. You can feel the happiness, tears, wind, rain and stepping in the mud. Amazing trail, great people and a beautiful story!

5 out of 5 starsMeeting Papa was a beautiful read. I found Michelle to be a really captivating writer and despite the way the trail was depicted as tough in many stages, I still felt the yearning to be on the trail. I will be recommending this book to others.

5 out of 5 starsI really enjoyed this book, the author has a really nice and lyrical writing style and was not afraid to discuss the tough times on the trail honestly but also showing some of the amazing experiences. Her solid partnership with Jack centred the book (for me) along with her authentic story telling. I hope to read more from this author because I think she has a real talent :)
