Hand Made Jewelry inspired by My Muse

I have been, and still am on most days, a graphic designer. After many years of working in 2 dimensions I felt a nagging to be more creative, to be more spirited and spiritual with the work I do. In the midst of hectic family life, the organized chaos of raising teenagers I began to escape for "jewelry creation" in the evenings. It's a habit that formed and one that I do daily because it is what I love to do.

I love metal smithing, beading, working with color and texture, creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, much like some family members in generations past. My "day job" as a graphic designer helps keep my ideas flowing and making handmade jewelry allows me the creative freedom that most artists crave. I like to believe that we all have a creative Muse, one who helps us through our creative blocks and gives us a burst of creative energy when we need it most. The opportunity to create for ourselves and for others is a gift.

I enjoy incorporating lots of color into my work and working with fusing wire and wire wrapping and metalsmithing. I have a love relationship with all kinds of beads and silver and cannot resist colorful gemstones. In my work I try to combine different elements to design jewelry that can be fun to wear as well as comfortable to wear. Form, function and aesthetic all have to work together.
