Valerie Paperie : Paper Love

I feel very fortunate to have been born and raised in The Netherlands. I grew up with a forest in my backyard. When I was young, my Dutch father convinced me that gnomes and fairies lived in the woods - we would frequently go on walks looking for them. From the beginning, I was always drawn to the magical world that isn't seen.

Whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always: "An artist!". My favorite part about being 'an artist' was the paper and drawing tools. Mostly, the paper - there's nothing better than a pad of fresh paper, oh, the possibilities! :) I love paper, the kraft variety especially. I love to pursue my local craft store and look at the lovely patterned papers as if they were pastries in a cake shop!

I love turning those pieces of paper into art - flat pieces of paper can be cut and manipulated into a beautiful paper rose. As if, by magic, they take shape. Or printed and cut into business cards, stickers or delicate garlands.

Each one of my creations is made with great love, care & sometimes an obsessive attention to detail - I hope you love them! :)
