The little things that make you happy.
Hello, my name is Dana. I am a self taught artist and life time student with a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Occupational Therapy. Art has always been there for me growing up, especially through college. There is always comfort to be found in something you find enriching and cathartic-- something that makes you feel like you are home. And I simply want to share that feeling with others.
I created Trinkets by Dana during my freshman year of college to maintain a balance between my academic and personal life. I felt so withdrawn from creativity during college and began to explore creative avenues during my spare time. I eventually started seeing Trinkets as a happy past time and eventually a small business as well.
"Trinkets" came from two ideas. At first, I wanted to make absolutely everything. I was making greeting cards one day and earrings the next. I couldn't peg myself down to one craft and quite frankly, I didn't want to. So when I came across the word "trinkets", I knew small, dainty, and cherished items could represent the wide variety of art I was making perfectly. My life philosophy is that it's the little things that make you happy. A kind word from a stranger or something as simple as a little origami crane can bring joy to someone's day. It puts a big smile on my face every time a customer shares with me that the little things I made with my hands made them happy. :)
