From Hobby to Business
¡Hola! Mi nombre es Andy y me metí en la herrería inicialmente como un pasatiempo y para poder hacer cosas para uso personal. Pero a medida que mis habilidades mejoraron, tuve personas que pedían comprar artículos y poco a poco se ha convertido en una pequeña empresa. Hago esto porque realmente disfruto el arte de la herrería y estoy constantemente tratando de mejorar mis habilidades y aprender cómo ampliar mi conocimiento de este arte antiguo. Me encanta cómo puedes tomar una pieza de chatarra aparentemente inútil y hacer algo que sea funcional y hermoso con nada más que un martillo, yunque y la propia habilidad del herrero.
Y una pequeña nota al margen húmera, ya que vivo en la ciudad, me consisdered nombré a mi tienda "Bad Neighbor Blacksmithing" viendo cómo soy tan bueno para hacer una tonelada de ruido martillando mi yunque. Pero al final pensé que Backyard Blacksmithing era más apropiado jaja.
Hello! My name is Andy and I got into blacksmithing initially as a hobby and to be able to make stuff for personal use. But as my skills improved I had people asking to buy items and it has slowly evolved into a small business. I do this because I really enjoy the art of blacksmithing and am constantly trying to improve my skills and learn how to expand my knowledge of this ancient art. I love how you can take a seemingly worthless piece of scrap and make something that is functional and beautiful out of it with nothing more than a hammer, anvil and the blacksmith's own skill.
And a little humerous side note, seeing as that I live in town I conisdered naming my shop "Bad Neighbor Blacksmithing" seeing as how Im so good at making a ton of noise hammering away on my anvil. But in the end figured Backyard Blacksmithing was more appropriate haha.
