Hi, I'm Lindsey — the artist and maker behind Fox & the Stars Studio.
I've always loved making things. Give me a blank canvas, a strange idea, an old object that needs a second life, or something that doesn't exist yet, and I'm happiest figuring out how to turn it into something beautiful, funny or completely unexpected.
I live in Baltimore, Maryland, where I'm slowly renovating a 1932 Tudor home and bringing its character back to life. I love beautiful details, things with a little history, dogs, time spent at Seneca Lake, original art, and projects that begin with “I wonder if I could make that…”
Everything you'll find here originates with me. I create original artwork, hand-painted ornaments, personalized children's pieces, fossil jewelry, handmade aprons, custom bowling pin art and whatever other unusual project I decide I need to figure out next.
Nothing is simply bought to be resold. Creating something original — and making it feel personal, interesting and a little uncommon — is the whole idea behind Fox & the Stars Studio.
WHY FOX & THE STARS?
The name of my studio is deeply personal to me.
My family has always encouraged me to sell the things I create, and my dad probably said it more than anyone. He was always genuinely interested in whatever I was working on and repeatedly told me that I needed to be doing this for a living.
My dad died in 2025. Afterward, the three of us had two unusual encounters with a fox. My mom and brother felt strongly that they were somehow connected to my dad. I wasn't convinced.
A couple of days later, it was snowing and I was standing by myself in my parents' backyard. I said out loud, “Dad, if you're here, I really need a sign.”
Within about a minute, a fox came out of the woods roughly 20 paces from me. It stopped, looked directly at me for a few seconds, and then ran back into the woods.
There was one other piece.
While looking for something to read at my dad's service, I found a poem by an unknown author called “Fox and the Stars.” My family loved it, and we decided to use it at his service. Later, when we tried to find the poem again, it was simply gone. Despite searching, none of us has ever been able to find it again.
So when I finally decided to do what my family had encouraged me to do for years — and what my dad had told me to do more times than I can count — the name felt obvious.
Fox & the Stars Studio.
This shop is a place for all the things I love to create, but it's also a small tribute to my dad and to the family that has always encouraged me to share my work with other people.
I think my dad would be pretty happy that I finally listened.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT WHAT I MAKE
My art prints are reproductions of my own original artwork, and each one is personally printed, inspected and hand-signed by me.
My handmade grilling aprons begin with raw cotton canvas that I hand-dye, prewash, cut and sew myself before adding original linocut designs that I carve and print by hand.
My custom bowling pin pieces begin as actual bowling pins and are completely transformed by hand. The one-of-a-kind trophies I create for Special Olympics Maryland athletes through Pins for a Purpose each represent well over 40 hours of work.
This shop is brand new, and I'm still adding listings. If you see something in my banner that isn't listed yet — or have an idea for something you'd like me to create — please message me. I love unusual ideas.
I'm so excited to finally share all of this with you.
— Lindsey
FEATURED IN THE NEWS
In September 2026, WMAR-2 and Patch joined us at Pins for a Purpose to share the story behind the one-of-a-kind bowling pin trophies I create for participating Special Olympics Maryland athletes.
You can find links to both features below. Etsy requires external links to be assigned a category, so although they may say “Blog,” they lead directly to the news stories.
