Crafting in Slippers
Overdag ben ik een leesspecialist die zich inzet om 5-, 6- en 7-jarigen te helpen die moeite hebben met leren lezen. 's Nachts trek ik een paar wazige pantoffels aan, ga naar mijn knutselkamer en begin aan mijn knutselmeditatie. Afkomstig uit een lange lijn van naaldenmakers, naaisters, timmerlieden, schilders en andere verschillende artistieke types heeft veel inspiratie en aanmoediging geboden om de kunstzinnige kant te omarmen. Ik hoop dat mijn winkel je dat gevoel van vredige grilligheid brengt dat ik vond bij het maken van de items die je ziet.
Ik heb de zegen gehad om in NY, SD, SC te hebben gewoond en ik woon momenteel buiten Boston in het appelboomgaardland van MA. Ik heb die plaatsen en hun bewoners te danken voor de leraar en kunstenaar die ik vandaag ben.
By day I am a Reading Specialist who works to help 5, 6, and 7 year-olds who are having difficulty learning to read. By night I slip on a pair of fuzzy slippers, head to my craft room, and begin my crafting meditation. Coming from a long line of needle crafters, seamstresses, carpenters, painters, and other various artistic types has provided lots of inspiration and encouragement to embrace the artsy side. I hope that my store brings to you that sense of peaceful whimsy that I found in creating the items you see.
I've had the blessing to have lived in NY, SD, SC, and I currently reside outside Boston in MA's apple orchard country. I have those places and their residents to thank for the teacher and artist that I am today.
