What is a Murrlow?
Murrlows are handmade chewable toys designed specifically for rats and other small pets. Each toy is a handsewn small fabric square (approx. 3" x 3") that we fill with dust-free, paper based small animal bedding material and a few hidden pet treats. The concept is simple: your pet smells the treats inside and chews through the fabric to get to them. What makes it special is that Murrlows truly do engage the everyday, natural instincts in small animal pets such as chewing, foraging, burrowing, nesting & scent exploration.
How long does it take to process and ship my order?
Orders are processed daily, including weekends. Once your order is placed, it is made the same day or the following day and ships the very next business day.
Once shipped, US orders typically arrive within 5 business days with USPS Ground Advantage.
Why does Etsy show a wider delivery estimate?
Estimated delivery dates shown by Etsy are automatically generated and include extra buffer time for carrier delays. In most cases, packages arrive on the early end of the estimate shown.
What treats are used inside?
We use a combination of Multigrain Cheerios and Gerber Baby Puffs in Banana & Strawberry-Apple flavors. All treats are free of artifical flavors and sweeteners.
Can I customize my order?
If you have any modifications that you need/want (such as requests for a different size or treat filling), please message us! We will try our hardest to make it happen for you :)
Are the materials pet-safe?
Yes! The cotton fabric is 100% pet-safe and dye-free. However, while these toys are meant to be chewed apart, always supervise your pet and remove any loose threads or heavily shredded pieces to prevent choking or potential hazards.
How long do the toys last?
Our toys are designed as dual-purpose enrichment items. First, your pet will have fun foraging and discovering the hidden treats inside. Gentle nibblers can take days, more determined shredders can take between 10-30 minutes. Then, once the treats are gone, pets typically keep the remnants of fabric and bedding around to use as nesting and burrowing material.
