Tecido, padrões e botões... Meu Deus!
Fabric and patterns and buttons....Oh My!
Lembro-me de fazer minha primeira saia no ensino médio e o processo de escolher um padrão, o tecido e as noções. Então, quando me sentei na máquina de costura, fazendo minha primeira criação, eu soube naquele momento... Eu estava viciado. Desde então, tenho sido criativo. Fui cosmetólogo por 10 anos, um quilter, um oleiro e agora um fabricante de bonecas. Minha avó era uma colcha e ela pertencia a abelhas acolchoadas... como é divertido isso! Eu também tenho uma profunda paixão por colchas velhas. Sou abençoada por ter alguns deles que minha avó fez e eu os aprecio. Eu amo entrar em uma loja de tecidos e olhar para todas as diferentes estampas e texturas. Eu me sinto como uma criança em uma loja de doces. Eu também amo lojas de hardware, há tantas coisas diferentes que podem ser incorporadas aos meus itens artesanais.... pregos, arame, aderências, tela e todos os tipos de guloseimas. É divertido pensar fora da caixa.
Todas as minhas criações são completamente artesanais do início ao fim por mim e quando estou projetando bonecas, ornamentos e outras criações, aqui está uma breve descrição do meu processo;
Eu faço um padrão, transfira para fábulas, madeira ou outros têxteis, costundo as peças juntas, recheo o item se necessário e então eu pinto os rostos e outros detalhes em cada item. Eu me orgulho de boa qualidade e de poder dizer: "Feito à mão nos EUA".

I remember making my first skirt in high school and the process of picking out a pattern, the fabric and the notions. Then as I sat at the sewing machine, making my first creation, I knew right then...I was hooked. Ever since then, I have been creative. I was a cosmetologist for 10 years, a quilter, a potter and now a doll maker. My Grandmother was a quilter and she belonged to quilting bees....how fun is that! I also have a deep passion for old quilts. I am blessed to own a couple of them that my Grandmother made and I cherish them. I love to go into a fabric store and look at all the different prints and textures. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I also love hardware stores, there are so many different things that can be incorporated into my handmade items....nails, wire, tacks, screen and all kinds of goodies. It is fun to think outside of the box.
All of my creations are completely handmade from start to finish by me and when I am designing dolls, ornaments and other creations, here is a short description of my process;
I make a pattern, transfer it to fabtic, wood or other textiles, sew the pieces together, stuff the item if needed and then I hand paint the faces and other details on each item. I pride myself in good quality and being able to say, "Handmade in the USA".
