Benvenuto in Revived by Ruby, la mia (relativamente) nuova avventura, prendere oggetti recuperati, rottamati e donati e farli rivivere in qualcosa di bello, aiutando la mia guarigione lungo la strada 🌈

Dico "relativamente" nuovo perché è qualcosa che ho sempre amato fare; tuttavia fino a marzo 2020 lavoravo a tempo pieno come insegnante, un lavoro che amavo. All'inizio di marzo ho preso il Covid-19 - prima che i test fossero disponibili e, sicuramente prima che qualcuno sapesse che durava così a lungo!!! Ora, ovviamente lo sappiamo come long-covid.

Più di tre anni dopo, mi sono dovuto abituare a una normalità completamente nuova. Quello che ho capito durante il mio recupero è quanto l'arte e la creatività siano importanti per le mie giornate - e soprattutto per la mia salute.

Ho notato presto che quando disegnavo o dipingevo, dimenticavo tutti i miei sintomi e mi piaceva solo quello che stavo facendo: la magia!! Quindi eccomi qui ora... negli ultimi anni (tutto si muove al rallentatore con il lungo-covid!) Ho aggiunto al mio negozio Etsy e condiviso ciò che ho creato su Instagram @revivedbyruby.

I miei pezzi sono pezzi unici, unici e si basano su tutto ciò che ho, quindi sono in continua evoluzione.
Amo usare ciò che mi circonda e la natura come ispirazione. Gli animali e gli uccelli del Regno Unito sono i preferiti in assoluto, specialmente i mammiferi dei boschi e delle zone rurali che mi ricordano i giorni felici in cui potevo passeggiare per la campagna.

Revived by Ruby sarà un mix eclettico in evoluzione di ogni sorta di cose che devono essere rivitalizzate e dare una nuova prospettiva di vita - voglio farle rivivere proprio come l'arte ha fatto per me 🌈🌞

Welcome to Revived by Ruby, my (relatively) new venture, taking salvaged, scrap and donated items and reviving them into something beautiful, helping my own recovery along the way 🌈

I say ‘relatively’ new as this is something I’ve always loved doing; however up until March 2020, I was actually working full-time as a teacher, a job I loved. In early March I caught Covid-19 - before tests were available and, certainly before anyone knew anything about it lasting so long!!! Now, of course we know it as long-covid.

Over three years later, I’ve had to get used to a whole new normal. What I’ve realised during my recovery is how much art and being creative are important to my days - and especially to my health.

I noticed early on that when I was drawing or painting, I forgot all my symptoms and just enjoyed whatever I was doing- magic!! So here I am now... over the past years (everything moves in slow motion with long-covid!) I’ve added to my Etsy shop and shared what I’ve been creating on Instagram @revivedbyruby.

My pieces are one-offs, unique and rely on whatever I have, so are always evolving.
I love to use my surroundings and nature as inspiration. Uk animals and birds are an absolute favourite- especially woodland and rural mammals that remind me of happy days when I could walk round the countryside.

Revived by Ruby will be an evolving eclectic mix of all sorts of things which need to be revitalised and given a new lease of life - I want to revive them just as art has done for me 🌈🌞
