How Stitch Monkey was created
💕In 2011 my mom bought me a sewing machine. She knew I had been an avid fan of "Project Runway". Next thing you know I was making plushies for my kids. The requests were for toys they couldn't find in chain stores, or ones they made up (have you ever seen a hybrid banana dolphin?!). Starting with a few unique plushies for my kids turned into friends requesting gifts. As of January of 2015, I had a few family members inspire me to start a shop.
When I had my first born and I had to go back to work, a friend of the family did daycare. I'd pick up my son she would say, "Come get your monkey!" It ended up with me calling all 4 of my kids my monkeys. Next thing you know, Stitch Monkey was born!
👽What the HECK is a cryptid?! Well, my son got me into them in 2021, I challenged myself to make one for every state, and then some more. But what are they? "An animal whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the yeti or Bigfoot." So are they real or not? I chose to believe that more than not...they COULD be out there!
🦇Although I have switch to primarily cryptid plush, I do still have a section for traditional cuddly animals too, and plan to make a few more to add to my collection.🐹
I take pride in challenging my skills and love working with others to make custom creations. My main passion is with monster/fantasy plushies, animals, drawing to plush and many other custom creations that are too many to list. You can find more of my work on Instagram, Pinterest and on Facebook.
