Llevo años trabajando como carpintero y aficionado a la ebanistería, y después de comprarme mi propia máquina CNC, supe que quería crear algo único con ella. Un día, mi esposa y yo asistimos a una cena de mahjong y aprendimos a jugar, ¡y lo entendí! Podía fabricar estas fichas yo mismo, de una forma original y única. Esa misma semana, me puse manos a la obra para diseñar mi propio juego.
Cada ficha está grabada con CNC, lijada a mano y acabada individualmente por mí en mi taller de Texas. Me centro en crear fichas que no solo sean bonitas, sino también agradables al tacto y resistentes al uso diario. Dedico mucho tiempo a probar maderas, acabados, profundidades de grabado, herramientas y métodos de lijado para conseguir el equilibrio perfecto entre durabilidad, suavidad y detalle.
No se trata de un producto fabricado en serie. Cada juego ha sido meticulosamente elaborado y revisado para detectar cualquier imperfección antes de su entrega.
Empecé este proyecto con el objetivo de crear hermosos juegos de madera maciza que fueran tanto una obra de arte como una parte habitual de vuestras noches de juegos, ¡y espero haberlo logrado!
I've been a carpenter and hobbyist woodworker for years, and after I bought my own CNC machine, I knew I wanted to make something unique with it. Then my wife and I attended a mahjong dinner and learned how to play the game - and it clicked! I could make these tiles myself, and in a fresh, unique way. That same week, I got to work designing my own set.
Every tile is CNC-engraved, hand-sanded, and individually finished by me in my workshop in Texas. I focus on making tiles that not only look beautiful, but also feel good in your hands and hold up to actual gameplay. I spend a lot of time testing woods, finishes, engraving depths, tools, and sanding methods to get the right balance of durability, smoothness, and detail.
These are not a mass-produced product. Every set has been meticulously crafted and checked for inconsistencies before delivery.
I started this with the goal of making beautiful, hardwood sets that are as much a work of art as they are a regular part of your game nights, and I hope I achieved that goal!
