ThreadAbell comenzó hace 10 años cuando mi familia se mudó a Buffalo, Nueva York, una familia con dos padres, un perro, algunos gatos, muchos juguetes y tres niños menores de 5 años. ¡Mis días de trabajar en restaurantes y confiar en la ayuda de la familia para cuidar niños habían terminado!

Me encontré en el enigma del trabajo frente a la guardería: ¿dónde podría trabajar que posiblemente cubriría el costo del cuidado de tres niños pequeños?

Reavivé mi pasión por la costura y comencé a hacer trabajos ocasionales para amigos: hacer farsas de almohadas con camisetas viejas, doblar pantalones, reutilizar vestidos viejos en camisas. Operé desde nuestro comedor, y luego un armario *muy* pequeño y finalmente eché a mi hijo menor de su guardería (no a la calle, eso sí, sino en nuestro dormitorio muy grande del segundo piso). Ahora tengo máquinas de coser en dos oficinas diferentes y partes de proyectos en toda la casa.

Mi negocio se basa en preservar recuerdos con camisas viejas, ropa de bebé, cualquier cosa que tenga valor sentimental. ¡También me especializo en Muppets! Uno de mis amores de la infancia que nunca ha disminuido. Puedo crear apliques personalizados de la mayoría de los personajes, así como una variedad de otra literatura infantil.

ThreadAbell began 10 years ago when my family relocated to Buffalo, NY - a family with two parents, a dog, some cats, lots of toys and three children under the age of 5. My days of working in restaurants and relying on family help for babysitting were over!

I found myself in the conundrum of work vs. daycare: where could I work that would possibly cover the cost of care for three little kids?

I rekindled my passion for sewing and started doing odd jobs for friends: making pillow shams out of old t-shirts, hemming pants, repurposing old dresses into shirts. I operated out of our dining room, and then a *very* small closet and finally kicked my youngest out of his nursery (not onto the street, mind you, but in our very large second floor bedroom). I now have sewing machines in two different offices and parts of projects all over the house.

My business is based on preserving memories with old shirts, baby clothes, anything that has sentimental value. I also specialize in Muppets! One of my childhood loves that has never diminished. I can create custom appliques of most characters as well as a range from other children's literature.
