Zori Lab. Textured art you can touch.
I’m Sara, a textile artist based in Amsterdam. I make handmade wool artworks that do something most art can’t — they make you want to reach out and touch them.
Every piece at Zori Lab starts with a shape I can’t stop thinking about and ends with natural wool I’ve hand-selected for texture and feel. I work with the tufting technique, building up layers of pile to create pieces that are tactile, warm, and completely one of a kind. No prints. No reproductions. Just wool, a frame I build myself, and a lot of time.
I’ve been making things my whole life — jewellery, paintings, sculpture. But tufting, which I discovered after moving to Amsterdam in 2021, is the one I can’t put down. There’s something about the moment a shape comes to life in texture that still surprises me every time.
My work ranges from soft whites and creams to deep blues and bursts of colour — because different homes call for different moods. Some pieces make a room go quiet. Others make it come alive.
