De Homo Faber Guide is een belangrijk project van de Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, een internationale non-profitorganisatie gevestigd in Genève, Zwitserland, die in 2016 is opgericht dankzij het idee van Franco Cologni en Johann Rupert. De missie van de Michelangelo Foundation is het vieren en behouden van meesterlijk vakmanschap. Daarom heeft de stichting een kaart gemaakt van de belangrijkste vertegenwoordigers op dit gebied, met als doel alle betrokkenen met elkaar te verbinden: ambachtslieden, ontwerpers, galeriehouders, kunstcuratoren, verzamelaars en liefhebbers van hoogwaardige handgemaakte objecten.

MANIFEST

Wij willen met behulp van houtbewerking accessoires voor huis en lichaam creëren, die dienen als ankers en je verbinding met het huidige moment vergemakkelijken.

In het snelle tempo van het moderne leven, verloren in gedachten en zorgen, vergeten we vaak contact te maken met onszelf en vinden we het steeds moeilijker om bewust te leven. Daarom nodigen we je met de objecten die we creëren uit om te vertragen, om je bewust te worden van hoe je het moment beleeft, de ervaringen die je opdoet en de kleine gebaren van alledag.


STUDIO

Lun is ontstaan uit een voortdurende dialoog tussen Manuela Blînda, kunstenaar en beeldhouwer, en Cezar Blînda, psycholoog en ambachtsman – een samenwerking die in 2020 begon in hun atelier in Iohanisfeld, Banat. Wat begon als een onderzoek naar organische sieraden, breidde zich vanzelfsprekend uit naar objecten voor huis en lichaam, waardoor hun atelier een creatieve kern werd waar ontwerpen een oefening in artistieke oprechtheid wordt.


PROCES

In ons werkproces is tijd ondergeschikt aan het materiaal. Elk object begint als een dialoog met wat eraan voorafging – een herinterpretatie van oude vormen, geworteld in de ambachtelijke tradities van Banat en gevormd door de herinnering aan het land. Hout wordt met bijna rituele zorg geselecteerd en volledig met de hand afgewerkt, met diep respect voor de afdruk en de herinnering van de nerf, waarna het op natuurlijke wijze wordt behandeld met lijnolie en bijenwas – een proces waardoor elk stuk zijn eigen geschiedenis draagt, net als de tradities die eraan ten grondslag liggen.

Hoewel het oppervlak er misschien ruw uitziet, kijk dan eens goed: u ziet de subtiele sporen van een snijmes – de ingetogen handtekening van de handen die het stuk tot leven hebben gebracht. We hebben ervoor gekozen om ze te behouden als een eerlijk bewijs dat elk object met geduld, aandacht en ziel is gevormd, en als een ingetogen eerbetoon aan de generaties ambachtslieden die ons voorgingen.

In onze visie moet hedendaags design in de eerste plaats een vorm van authenticiteit zijn – een vorm die het idee van thuis herdefinieert door middel van harmonie en oprecht respect voor de natuur.

ONDERHOUD

Om de schoonheid van dit stuk te behouden en het op een elegante manier te laten verouderen, kunt u het periodiek behandelen met minerale olie of lijnolie – een eenvoudige handeling die het hout voedt en de karakteristieke uitstraling ervan versterkt. Als dit stuk bestemd is voor gebruik met voedsel, kunt u er zeker van zijn dat het 100% voedselveilig is. Was het met de hand met een mild afwasmiddel en zorg ervoor dat het volledig droog is voordat u het opbergt op een goed geventileerde plaats. Behandel het met zorg, en het zal u nog lang van dienst zijn.

Thus, through the objects we create, we invite you to slow down, to become aware of how you live that moment, the experience you have and the small gestures of every day.


STUDIO

Lun was born from an ongoing dialogue between Manuela Blînda, an artist and sculptor, and Cezar Blînda, a psychologist and artisan — a collaboration that began in 2020 in their workshop in Iohanisfeld, Banat. What started as an exploration of organic jewelry, naturally expanded toward objects for the home and body, turning their workshop into a creative nucleus where design becomes an exercise in artistic sincerity.


PROCESS

In our working process, time is subordinate to the material. Each object begins as a conversation with what came before — a reinterpretation of old forms, rooted in the craft traditions of Banat and shaped by the memory of the land. Wood is selected with almost ritual care and finished entirely by hand, with deep respect for the imprint and memory of the grain, then naturally treated with linseed oil and beeswax — a process that allows each piece to carry its own history, much like the traditions that inspired it.

Where the surface may seem unpolished, look closer: what you find are the quiet marks of a carving knife — the discreet signature of the hands that brought the piece to life. We chose to keep them as an honest testament that each object was shaped with patience, presence, and soul, and as a quiet tribute to the generations of makers who worked before us.

In our vision, contemporary design must first and foremost be a form of authenticity — one that redefines the idea of home through harmony and a sincere respect for nature.

MAINTENANCE

To preserve the beauty of this piece and allow it to age gracefully, apply mineral oil or linseed oil periodically — a simple gesture that nourishes the wood and deepens its character over time. If this piece is intended for use with food, rest assured that it is 100% food-safe. Wash by hand with mild dish soap and, before storing it in a well-ventilated place, ensure it is completely dry. Treat it with care, and it will accompany you for a long time.
