"Surface II ", abstract art, abstract painting, ocean, abyss, Quebec artist, Amélie Loyer, acrylic on panel.

Dimensions: 20 x 24 inches.

Materials: mixed mediums on wood panel.

Surface is a series of 8 paintings that began in the fall of 2020 and was completed in April 2021.

5% of the gross sale of my paintings will be donated to GREMM to support Research and Education on St. Lawrence Marine Mammals.

Filled with aquatic movements, it symbolizes the rise of the abyssal waters of the Laurentian Chen to the surface waters of the St. Lawrence. This very specific place, off the coast of Tadoussac, creates a fantastic environment to feed the plankton, itself food for our beautiful Quebec whales. Between blue and green, two worlds oppose each other: The dark and dark depths vs. the restless, oxygenated and luminous surface.

Duality of two realities of the same essence. It also symbolizes the depth of the human soul, with its areas of shadows and lights, where the tumult is incessant, just like the tides.

Weight and hook:
4.8 lbs. You have to hang this painting using a solid anchor if nailing in wood is impossible.

Don't hesitate to check out my jewels showcasing the beautiful shells of the St. Lawrence and follow me on social media for your dose of sea air!

Come on! Let's dive!!!

These coasters are so beautiful! Each one is a piece of art and they go beautiful in my rustic modern home. I love that the shells were collected and arranged by this very talented artist. Incredibly happy! Thank you so much. :)
