BetweenPosts - Our Story
We decided to start our shop because we love making our own products, ideas we work together on and of course other peoples ideas too! I have been creative all my life, I studied Art & Design for 4 years in England, then after obtaining my degree I worked in London. Some years later, I moved to Germany, where I met my future husband Alex. We teamed up to combine our artistic skills together. In the beginning Alex built and worked on stage sets for films and tv shows and I specialized in film set paint finishes, then we moved on to design themed rooms in hotels, stage decorations and interiors in discotheques and designed modern furniture for residential homes and restaurants, learning to design and have been using birch multiply in all functions of our work since 1995. For each client, I would produce a watercolour visual rendering or b/w pen and ink sketches of our combined ideas. Together with Alex, we would turn those sketches into reality. We moved to Canada in Dec 2007 and worked hard to open our own workshop again.
We now have our online carpentry shop with our own designs, working with Etsy and making custom furniture in our workshop in Vernon.
We are working on building a collection of new modern furniture pieces and artwork ideas all the time, and we add them to our collection as soon as they are ready!.
