Everyday Treasures Inspired by Nature’s Quiet Magic
Hallo, ik ben Joanna Massey Lelekacs, de kunstenaar achter Bluefae Studio, waar natuur, verhaal en design samenkomen.
Mijn creatieve reis verdiepte zich nadat orkaan Fran mijn huis en mijn leven volledig had veranderd, wat ertoe leidde dat ik kunst en design ging studeren. Sindsdien heeft mijn pad me langs landschapsarchitectuur, landbouw en een leidinggevende rol in de North Carolina Botanical Garden geleid, waarbij elke stap geworteld was in een liefde voor gemeenschap, kleur en design als manieren om de relaties te begrijpen die het leven in stand houden.
Het maken van kunst helpt me om dieper in contact te komen met de planten en dieren die me inspireren, en ik hoop dat mijn werk jou uitnodigt om hetzelfde gevoel van verwondering en verbondenheid te ervaren. Mijn illustraties en ontwerpen zijn geïnspireerd door wilde bloemen, bestuivers en andere planten en kleine wezens, vaak met een vleugje fantasie, en komen tot leven op zijden sjaals, schetsboeken, kunstdrukken, notitiekaarten, tassen en andere accessoires.
Verbinding, zorg en verwondering staan centraal bij Bluefae Studio. Elk stuk is ontworpen met de intentie om de schoonheid en betekenis van de natuur in je dagelijks leven te brengen, of je het nu draagt, gebruikt of als een oprecht cadeau geeft.

Hi, I’m Joanna Massey Lelekacs, the artist behind Bluefae Studio, where nature, story, and design come together.
My creative journey deepened after Hurricane Fran reshaped my home and my life, leading me to study art and design. Since then, my path has carried me through landscape architecture, farming, and a leadership role at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, with every step rooted in a love of community, color, and design as ways to understand the relationships that sustain life.
Creating art helps me connect more deeply with the plants and animals that inspire me, and I hope my work invites you to feel that same sense of wonder and belonging. My illustrations and designs are inspired by wildflowers, pollinators, and other plants and small creatures, often with a touch of whimsy, and come to life on silk scarves, sketchbooks, art prints, note cards, tote bags, and other accessories.
