Hace más de doce años, mi esposa notó que le dolían las manos y los brazos después de tejer a crochet, independientemente del tiempo. Tras investigar y visitar al médico, nos dimos cuenta de que la cirugía no era una opción económica. Así que, tras una lluvia de ideas y varios prototipos, ¡nacieron nuestros mangos! Empecé con un mango para su tamaño de aguja favorito y fui creando a partir de ahí. Empecé a hacer más mangos para sus agujas y luego pasé a otros artículos pequeños que necesitaba para sus diversas manualidades: descosedores, herramientas para rellenar, portalápices y estiletes, mangos de pinceles, agujas de cierre, pinturas con gemas y cualquier otra cosa que quisiera probar.
Nos dimos cuenta de que no podía ser la única con problemas en las manos que impidieran la cirugía. Empezó a vender mis mangos en línea. Así nació Dunlap Custom Crafts. Fabricados con diversos tipos de madera y acabados en una variedad de estilos, con múltiples opciones para herramientas en nuestros mangos, fabricamos productos para ayudar a otros a crear. Somos una empresa pequeña, de dos personas, que fabrica a mano todo lo que vendemos. Todos nuestros mangos se prueban antes de ponerlos a la venta, para asegurarnos de que se ajusten y se sientan bien en las manos. Nuestros mangos están hechos POR artesanos, PARA artesanos.

Over a dozen years ago now, my wife noticed that her hands and arms would hurt after crocheting for any amount of time. After some research, and some doctor visits, we realized that surgery was not in our near financial future. So, after some brainstorming, and a handful of prototypes, our handles were born! I started with one handle for her favorite hook size, and went from there. I started making more handles for more of her hooks, and then moved on to other small items that she needed for her various crafts. Seam rippers, stuffing tools, stylus and pencil holders, paint brush handles, latch hook, gem paintings, and anything else she wanted to try.
We realized that she can’t be the only one with hand problems where surgery is not a viable option. She started listing my handles online for sale. Thus, Dunlap Custom Crafts was started. Made from various types of wood, and finished in a variety of styles, with multiple options for tools in our handles, we make things to help others make things. We are a small, 2 person, operation, hand making everything that we sell. All of our handle styles are tried and tested before we offer them for sale, to make sure that they fit, and feel good in your hands. Our handles are made BY crafters, FOR crafters.
