It Started With a Batting Order
NextMoveLabs was never supposed to be a business.
It started with a simple problem.
While coaching my daughter's tee ball team, I needed an easy way to create batting orders. Existing tools felt like overkill, so I built a simple app that let me enter player names, generate a lineup, make a few quick adjustments, and print.
One screen. A few clicks. Done.
Then I discovered another challenge.
At the younger ages, winning isn't the priority. Kids need opportunities. Coaches want fair rotations, equal playing time, and a way to keep players engaged instead of having everyone chase the ball to the pitcher's mound. So I built a simple rotation grid that made game management easier.
As my daughters moved into youth softball, I was introduced to increasingly complex lineup and planning tools. Many were powerful, but they often required more setup, more screens, and more time than I wanted to spend on game day.
What I really needed was simple.
I wanted to create a lineup, build a rotation plan, print a single sheet, and go coach.
If I was leaving work late, I wanted to pull out my phone, make a few adjustments, open the print preview, take a screenshot, and head to the field.
That's where Easy Coach was born.
Every tool I create follows the same philosophy:
There has to be an easier way.
Living with ADHD and anxiety has reinforced the value of simplicity. The more complicated a process becomes, the more likely it is to get in the way of what actually matters. Whether it's coaching a game, managing a team, or organizing information, I believe technology should reduce complexity, not create more of it.
My background includes sales leadership, finance, technology, and youth sports, but the common thread has always been problem-solving. I enjoy finding practical solutions that help real people save time and focus on what's important.
Today, NextMoveLabs creates simple tools designed around real-world needs, not unnecessary features.
Because coaching should be about coaching.
And there has to be an easier way.
