Frequently asked questions
Are the patterns cut or uncut?
Unless otherwise stated in the listing, all patterns are uncut and factory folded. If a pattern has been cut or partially used, it will always be clearly mentioned in the description.
Are these original patterns?
Yes. All patterns in this shop are original paper sewing patterns, not digital copies or reproductions. They come from a carefully preserved private collection.
What condition are the patterns in?
Most patterns are in very good vintage condition. Pattern pieces are uncut and factory folded, and the original instruction sheets are included.
Because these are vintage items, the envelopes may show light wear from age and storage, such as small tears, creases, writing, or age spots.
All photos are taken of the actual item you will receive — what you see is exactly what you get. Please review the photos carefully for condition details.
Are instructions included?
Yes. The original instruction sheets are included unless otherwise noted in the listing.
What sizes are the patterns?
The pattern size is listed in the description and shown in the photos of the original envelope.
Please note that vintage sewing pattern sizing may differ from modern clothing sizes, so we recommend checking the measurement chart on the envelope before purchasing to ensure the best fit.
How will my pattern be packaged?
Each pattern is placed in a clear protective plastic sleeve to help keep it clean and water-resistant during shipping. Orders are then carefully packed in a protective mailer to ensure they arrive safely.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
All patterns in our shop are vintage items, and are uncut and factory folded. Once a pattern has been opened, we cannot guarantee that all pieces remain complete or in the same original condition.
To ensure that every customer receives patterns in their most complete and original state, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
We carefully inspect each pattern and provide clear photos and descriptions of the exact item you will receive. Please review all details carefully before purchasing.
Thank you for your understanding.
Do you sell digital patterns?
No. Pattern Library Co. currently only offers original paper sewing patterns.
At this time we do not plan to create digital scans. We believe the original paper format preserves the accuracy and design details as they were originally created, and we also respect the original designers and their intellectual property.
Will you add more patterns to the shop?
Yes. Pattern Library Co. began with a collection of nearly 3,000 sewing patterns inherited from my grandmother, who spent many years collecting and preserving them.
Since opening the shop, I’ve also continued collecting patterns myself and truly enjoy finding and preserving these designs. Because of this, new patterns will be added to the shop regularly, so feel free to check back often to see what’s new.
