This is exactly what I would expect especially at the price point--so yes it's worth it!! On top of all this, I corresponded with Julie and she seems very lovely. :)

An object that has a history ...
In the age of over-consumption, mass production and the race against time, Piedebiche is a return to craftsmanship, slow and thoughtful. Born out of the profound desire to offer unique, durable and story-telling objects, the workshop collects materials and objects dedicated to burial and recycling to give them a second life.
Each recovered part is thoroughly cleaned, repaired (if necessary) and reassembled in accordance with good engineering practice and more often than not in a different form. The wear of time that marks each piece is preserved, thus offering a soul to each object.

Is it possible to do local pickup?
Yes absolutely! Simply enter the coupon code PICKUP when ordering so that you can save shipping costs :)
Is it possible to modify the fixture for connection directly to the ceiling box?
Most fixtures can be modified at no extra cost. If the option is available, it will be indicated at the beginning of the description of the article. Please specify the desired length of wire in a message.
