  • Materials: dried flowers, mini skein, kit

  • Yarn weight: 1 fingering & sock

Embrace a touch of last summer.

I have kits available that will supply you with mordanted fingering weight yarn (3 25g mini skeins) and 10g of dried flowers (from my garden) to dye your first skein of yarn.
The steps outlined in the kit are very simple. It’s as simple as 1,2,3. You provide the glass jar and I will provide the rest.

Once you purchase a kit you will receive an invite to become a member of a Instagram group where you'll be able to see what others dye and post your pictures too.
Follow me on my website www.onaquestforfibre.com to see the ‘behind the scene’ pics of last summer as I grew the flowers; my greatest pleasure.
Cheers,
Keli

Keli was super responsive and easy to work with. Kindly agreed to a local pickup to save on shipping costs, and even included a bit of unexpected fibre! As expected with 3D printed things, the spindle itself is a bit rough -- definitely need to sand it down before I spin fibre I'm more attached to. It spins ok, even though the end of one of the arms is a bit dented, and the two sides of the shaft aren't attached straight. The arms sit about 2/3 down the shaft (higher than standard Turkish spindles), and it's light to handle. You can see through the arms to see the supported hollow structure. Looking forward to spinning at a concert or an evening picnic where the glow really shows!

I love this spindle! It was the first time I had tried either a supported or Turkish spindle, so I have a bit of a learning curve. I think I like using it best as a Turkish drop spindle, and it spins beautifully. I was worried since it is so light weight, but it is making the most consistent lace weight singles I've ever managed. 10 out of 10, would buy again.

I chose these braids because of the white spaces between colour, the results were surprising after spinning. The colours became pastels and the results were beautiful. The fiber is soft and easy to draft with a nice sheen.
