On April 1, 2014, I was honoured to be invited to partake in the Pysanky for Ukraine April 1 2014 event on social media. Over 300 people partook in the unifying process of writing Pysanky and sharing their prayers for peace and freedom in Ukraine. This year(2022) I remade this design along with 4 others and raffled them off to raise aid for Ukraine through various charities. This is my Prayers for Ukraine pysanka.
This beautiful pysanka will be lovingly created in the traditional batik wax and dye process on a real blown turkey egg. It will be sealed with a coat of archival, industrial grade UV resistant, crystal clear finish and it will measures approximately 3 1/4" tall.
The process begins by meticulously drawing out the design in pencil before it goes through a process of waxing and dyeing. Etching technique is used to create the raised borders and create a three dimensional effect.
As with all my eggs, yours will come with a FREE lacquered, dark wooden stand and metal gift tin.

This is a great starter egg if you are unsure how they will look in person. It is low cost, but still very detailed. We have wanted this one since we first browsed the store and it is nice to add it to our ever growing collection.

Oh my!!! The pictures on the internet couldn’t do it justice. The detail is exquisite. I’m in full on fan girl mode at the moment. So Jeo, it is such an honor to own one of your eggs. I have admired your work for a long time. I taught high school art for 30 years and often taught pysanky. I never came close to your skill, but I loved trying. Also, the care you took in the packaging was excellent. Thank you!
