Whether you are making sauerkraut, kimchi, or pickles, this wheel thrown made to order fermenting crock is just for you! It comes with weights and a large water reservoir up top to keep your food safe, and less time making sure there is water in it. It also includes a spout which makes it easier to remove water from the reservoir. The weights are also completely glazed so they are easy to clean between uses. More and more health benefits are being found everyday for eating fermented vegetables.
I make these made to order fermenting crocks on my potters wheel. I have a lot of different color combinations to pick from. Any color combination you see in my online shop are available, including custom decals. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MarkCampbellCeramics?ref=si_shop If you have any questions, please send me a message before purchasing. I will respond to your questions very fast. I will have your crock ready to ship in 6 to 8 weeks, but usually less. Please note also that the sunset colored crocks will not be textured.
All materials used to make these are non toxic and food safe. I glaze the inside of these crocks with a clear gloss glaze. A 2 quart crock will be around 8 1/2 inches tall and 7 inches wide. Please note that they are not exactly 2 quarts. They are either a touch over or under. Usually give or take 1 cup. I glazed the weights on both sides for easy cleaning. I will keep in contact on the progression of your crock . Please note that the pictures in this listing are examples of color schemes I offer. The crock you get will have a color similar to the ones in the pictures. Thank you for looking!
Here is a review from one of my fermenting crocks:
1 gallon fermenting crock Made-to-order
I really love this beautifully made fermenting crock. The sunset colors are stunning and will brighten up my fermentation station. The craftsmanship is outstanding. My order arrived quickly, and was packed very well, which was good because it came all the way to Alaska. I am so excited to get using this sweet crock. Thank you very much!
I have sent these crocks all over the world now. Some very well known fermanters have been giving me some great reviews too! Sandot Katz, author of Wild Fermentation and the Art of Fermentation had this to say:

A Hand-Made Fermentation Crock
Okay, okay, so this isn’t technically a last-minute gift, but it’s one you’ll absolutely love. I adore fermentation, wrote a whole video class on fermentation, and featured a chapter on fermentation in my cookbook. While mason jars and the like are perfect for newcomers to fermentation, having the right equipment can make a huge difference in the quality of fermented foods you produce – reducing the likelihood of cross-contamination by stray microbes and molds. For this reason, I cherish my crocks which are specifically designed for fermentation.
My favorite among my three crocks is a handmade fermentation crock produced by a potter out of California who sells his wares on Etsy. His fermentation crocks are made-to-order, come with weights, and the small ones hold 2 quarts and are priced at about $65. I LOVE mine.
