Adirondack Beach Chair Plans - Portable, 2 piece, 2 position - DWG files for CNC machines

Instant download

Description

I have been thinking about how to do this one for a long time. There are lots of quick and easy 2 piece beach chairs out there, but all incorporate horizontal slats and horizontal support bars.

My goal was to keep true to my Adirondack designs with the comfortable curved back and seat, yet make a portable beach chair that can fully recline into a different position.

By incorporating 1” dowels as support cross bars with heavy gauge brass furniture screws for extra strength, I was able to eliminate the common visible horizontal support bars. One dowel rests in a 1/4” round groove to lock it into place in both positions. The seat is 16” wide and the back matches my regular Adirondack plan but shorter. I am 5’8” and can rest my head in the upright position, and yet someone 6’2” could do the same in the low position. You do not slide off in the low position, since the seat curves upwards.

These DOWNLOADABLE Adirondack Plans include part sizes in standard and metric dimensions, assembly instructions with matching step-by-step color photos & parts pictures. All images are linked to full size through your browser. The DWG formatted file can be IMPORTED to CNC applications and converted by your CNC software. All part quantities are laid out on a 4' x 6' bed size with the grain. The side patterns and longest back slat for this chair, will fit diagonally on a 1000mm x 1000mm or 30-inch square CNC bed. You will just have to separate them from the file and angle them accordingly, corner to corner. Every CNC setup is different and you will need to verify the layout in relation to your CNC parameters and tooling for clearances.
