This is a perfect PDF file! I was very hesitant to order as I bought another dress pattern *FROM ANOTHER SHOP* and it was such a hassle to print and then it was way too small! I finally got the correct file from the shop but by that time I had wasted a ton of printer ink and paper! This pattern is perfect and I can't wait to make the dress!
I have just finished my first Carson dress and it is just such a beautiful pattern – deceptively simple-looking but it has been drafted to hang beautifully. I used block-printed Indian cotton without a great deal of drape (and the pattern recommends drapier fabric), and it still looks great. I also managed to squeeze an XXL with midi sleeves out of 2.5 yards of narrow, striped fabric, so if you're prepared to get a bit creative with your pattern layout this is also very economical to make. Thank you Paddleboat Studio – I am already planning my next one!
Overall good pattern with some minor quibbles about missing notches (not marked on patterns but mentioned more than once in instructions though not hard to figure out what/where she meant), fitting neck binding, and pattern layout for Front bodice (#3; other pieces on fold follow nap, this was reversed). Generous sizing; made L but finished dress says shoulda been Med, lol. Printed well on Letter paper, easy to make, and definitely will use pattern again. Appreciate your talent!
I love this pattern. I've made two so far and wear them constantly. I did deepen the pockets quite a bit for the second one because I have a need for gigantic pockets. I love the fit, perfect scoop neck and love where the waist hits. Incredibly flattering design.
