Made for executors, personal representatives, administrators and the family members helping them, in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Enter the date of death and the checklist fills in its due dates. Then log what the person owned and owed, every payment in and out of the estate, and who inherits what. You'll see the net estate, what's overdue and what is left to distribute. It pairs with our Life Binder: the binder is the planning side, filled in while alive, and this tracker is the executor side afterwards, with no duplicate pages.

WHAT IT DOES FOR YOU
✔ Task Checklist: 60 pre-filled generic executor tasks in 4 phases (first days, first weeks, probate and administration, closing the estate), plus room for your own
✔ Due dates counted from the date of death (edit the days or type an override date), status, owner, date done and notes. Overdue tasks are flagged in red and DUE SOON in amber
✔ Assets: type, institution, last 4 digits only, ownership, estimated value, date-of-death value, sale proceeds, status (identified, valued, transferred, sold / cashed in) and beneficiary
✔ Joint, named-beneficiary and trust assets are marked as passing outside the estate automatically; a NEED DOD VALUE flag shows what still needs a value
✔ Debts and creditors: claimed, agreed and paid amounts, status (notified, claim received, disputed, paid, settled, written off) and what is still to pay

HOW TO USE
1. Setup: enter the date of death, estate name and currency, and pick US, UK, Canada or Australia wording
2. Work through the checklist, and log assets, debts and every estate payment as they happen
3. Enter the beneficiaries' shares to see the net estate, each share and what is left to distribute

COMPATIBILITY
• Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer / Microsoft 365 (Windows and Mac), and Excel for the web
• Google Sheets (free): upload to Google Drive and open
• No macros, add-ons or subscription. Apple Numbers is not supported.

HOW THIS WAS MADE
Designed, reviewed and tested by our shop. The spreadsheet logic, listing images and text were created with the help of an AI assistant (Claude by Anthropic) using Python scripts. The photos are rendered from the real spreadsheet and sample data; no AI-generated imagery is used.
