Description

"The delight of that good heart,
breathed the world new -
the whole earth wild,
loud as the heart among horses."

- Original Poetry by Jane Kerrison of Small Poetics

5” x 5” print

I made this artwork using a technique called blackout poetry, a type of found poetry. I start with a piece of underlying text, and from the limited number of words provided, choose some with which to form a new piece of original poetry.

Rather than black out the rest of the page, I showcase the general shape of the text below, to pay homage to the original verse and the collaboration of old and new. The base text for this piece is poetry by William Butler Yeats.

The background is Irish Breakfast tea painted on watercolour paper.

Frame not included. (If you'd like to purchase the frame, please contact me for a quote)

* Copyright remains with Jane Kerrison.

The perfect gift for teachers, book lovers, artists and more!
