🍁 Proudly made to order by hand in Canada.

No matter which side is facing you, a quick unsnap of the flap gives you quick access to the contents, be it your new Apple Earpods (or other earbuds), coins, guitar picks, or other small items that have a tendency to get lost or disorganized when loose.

This soft but rugged triangular leather pouch opens on either side.

Makes a perfect gift for just about anybody (including yourself!). Just throw it in a bag or pocket and go.

It's a bit tricky to give an exact measurement (since as it gets fatter, it changes shape slightly, and the corners pull in), but when empty, the outside dimensions are ~4" (10cm) on each side of the triangle, and the inside is ~3 1/2" (9cm) on each side. Convo me if you need a specific size.

Made using top quality top/full grain leather that will patina beautifully over time (See FAQ for details).

I ordered two of these minimalist wallets. One was black and tan leather and I asked for the second to be black with burgundy leather. Mike was very accommodating and crafted the second wallet as I had requested. The workmanship is excellent. My husband and I will be using these wallets for years!

The best strength and quality comes from the outermost layer of the hide (known as the “grain”).

I use only top and full grain leather—considered by many to be the most genuine of leathers, retaining the hide’s unique character and strength.

Most cheap leathers are produced by splitting the inner layers to produce more square feet of material per hide, but full grain leather retains the outside layer for maximum strength and durability.

This quality comes at a cost, as full grain leather usually commands a higher price. However, for quality, long-lasting goods—especially ones you depend on—it’s well worth the investment.

See below for details on each type of leather I use.
Oil-tanned, top grain leather with a stone-sanded, soft, even finish. Will still show some surface character, although not as much as the other options. Soft and matte to the touch.
Oil-tanned, full-grain leather with lots of natural character, this finish imparts a subtle pull up (two-tone) effect on bends and creases. Rustic, dark-brown, great patina with use. Soft to the touch, with pronounced natural grain texture.
LIMITED AVAILABILITY. Oil-tanned, full-grain leather with striking character and two-tone effect, especially visible in the many creases. Light to dark tan, and will patina amazingly with use. Slightly waxy to the touch. No recurring supply, so when it's gone, it's gone.
Vegetable-tanned full-grain leather. Hand-dyed, then hand-finished with beeswax and oils to bring out the natural character. Usually thinner and stiffer than oil-tanned leather depending on the cut and treatment, but more resistant to surface marring. Often used to ensure maximum strength while keeping excess bulk and weight to a minimum.

The Medium Brown and Saddle Tan are similar (The saddle tan is a touch more orange), and are ideally suited to highlight scars, wrinkles, etc. If you have a preference for these characteristics, please make sure to add a note when you order, and I'll pick out a piece especially for you if I can, at no extra charge.
Full-grain leather only available from the famous Horween tannery in Chicago. This stiff leather takes stamping well, and feels smooth, waxy and dense—it’s the ultimate in luxury. A pronounced two-tone ‘pull-up’ effect highlights bends, stamping, and characteristics of wear over time for a gorgeous patina.

Chromexcel is still produced in the US using a bark retannage from a proprietary recipe, and then finished with a secret blend of natural oils and greases. Chromexcel is characterized by a rich colours and hand rubbed finishes. Made to this day with old world craftsmanship, modern Chromexcel carries on a long history of superior comfort and durability.
Well, of course, just having a machine or a human isn't going to automatically make thread stronger, or details more accurate.

However, there is one specific difference where hand-stitching wins out — resistance to unravelling. A hand-sewn saddle stitch (used on all my projects) involves two needles through every hole, and that means a very good, redundant system of securing two or more pieces of leather.

A machine will perform a lock stitch, which can continuously unravel down the line if the thread is broken at any one point.

A good saddle-stitch won't let you down.

Sometimes a good illustration can help:
The short answer is obviously, "It depends."

However, through good care and maintenance, every single product you invest in should last many years—if not a lifetime—performing its intended function.

You don't need much in the way of maintenance. Leather components should be occasionally conditioned to replenish oils, especially if they are exposed to sunlight and harsh elements. With light use, once a year is appropriate.

Leather and metal components should not be exposed to or submerged in water (especially salt water) for extended periods of time. This advice also applies to cats and BBQ ribs.

While you do want to keep your leather dry, if it is intended for use in the outdoors, I make sure your item is properly finished.
