"'I envy people who can stand today,' I thought while I clutched my belly and stared at the ceiling from my mess of sheets and blankets. Little did I know, a few hours later, I’d sit up in bed and write a book about my journey."

PRAISE FOR "IT'S TIME."

- "Poetically and hauntingly written. Every word resonated with me; every painful situation struck me by the way it was honestly portrayed."

- "A great analysis of all the feelings and emotions and pain that go with endometriosis."

- "I read it in one stroke, unable to stop. I already knew you were an excellent writer, but I am still impressed by this work. It was very special. You expressed yourself in such a way that it is so relatable, even to people (like me) who do not suffer from endometriosis but have had or have issues with reproduction and fertility. So I want to thank you for this."

- "You did an amazing job and your organization Alba is going to do great things and help so many people who suffer from endometriosis, as well as their loved ones! I love the Feelings chapter! When I was first diagnosed, it was hard for me to put into words how I was feeling. You explain all of the feelings so well and in a way that resonated with me."

- "I couldn't help but to read it straight through last night. Congrats on this work and thanks for sharing it with the world! I experienced myself that there is a lot of beauty in sharing such things. While its beyond terrifying to expose one's own weaknesses, it alleviates the pressure of always having to hide the issue and pretend to be doing fine. Sharing also helps others who feel lost or overwhelmed in similar situations, and its good to know to be in it together. I would say that most of the book is actually very universal and also works beyond endometriosis. I've been struggling with anxiety and depression myself in the last two years (and then frustration and anger as a consequence) and I could immediately relate to most of what you described."

- "I was very touched by your experience (you're a great writer) and I was surprised to learn how painful endometriosis can be."

- "About courage, determination, energy and optimism, and how misery can turn into the positive."

- "Read it all in one sitting. It is powerful and it is hard for me to put in in words how it made me feel. Sad, angry, inspired, relatable, being proud of you, rooting for you. I have so much respect for you!! Thank you for sharing your story! Now when I carry my Alba tote bag, I carry this story with me as well....and it will give me courage!!"

- "What a story! If I wouldn't have known that every word was true, my first reaction would have been: unbelievable. Unbelievable that it takes so much time and so much effort and frustration and pain to get recognition for endometriosis."

- "It struck me how pervasive this disease is; I was stunned by how it affects every part of the author's life, from her waking until sleep and all the activities in between that we take for granted but that are so difficult when she is overcome and debilitated by pain."

- "Your fortitude, determination and wisdom in handling it all leaves me in awe. I pray that this written work reaches the masses who are experiencing these challenges, as I am sure it would be of great benefit to them."

- "This story is one of courage and perseverance, battles and victories. Bravo!"

- "I was really touched by it. So beautifully written. Thank you, vielen Dank."

- "The author is a powerful writer."
------------------------

"It's Time." is an original book written by Kristina Kasparian, a Canadian writer, photographer and scientist. This is a raw, candid, descriptive account of Kristina's personal journey with endometriosis - a journey that will surely resonate with many women and men around the world.

Whether you have been directly touched by the challenges of endometriosis and related health conditions (such as chronic pain, female cancers and infertility) or whether you are curious to learn more about this misunderstood and complex illness from the outside in, the poignant and brutally honest passages in "It's Time"
are intended to educate, empower, inspire and heal.

The book is part of a larger online initiative on women's health called "Alba - a new dawn". This website will showcase – through photographs, words and products designed for the cause – women entrepreneurs who have been affected by endometriosis, female cancers, chronic pain and infertility. Kristina's goal with Alba is to help us shift the dialogue on women’s health and achieve a brighter dawn with more pro-active, holistic, systematic approaches for all, as well as to raise funding for research.

All proceeds from the book will go to starting up and maintaining the Alba project (www.alba-a-new-dawn.com), which in turn will collect funds for research on female cancers and endometriosis.

Additional policies

All content is owned by Veni Etiam Photography and subject to copyright. Any unauthorized use, reproduction or resale is strictly prohibited.
The concept of Veni Etiam Photography is to bring the feeling, beauty and color of places around the world into your everyday space, to uplift and inspire you, letting you reminisce or dream. I chose the name "Veni Etiam" as it is a Latin phrase meaning "Return again". Each time you return to a place, you discover something new. No place is ever the same (and neither are you), and this is at once beautiful and tragic. "Veni Etiam" is also an expression that has been used in literature to describe Venice. As Venice is my deepest inspiration, this is my tribute to Her. So, it has nothing to do with Vietnam :-)
No. Each and every photograph was taken by me and is exclusively available for purchase on my website or my Etsy shop. Every photo has a title and caption, and often a story to tell. All photographs are copyright protected and any use or reproduction is strictly prohibited.
Unfortunately, no. The photographs that are presently in the Veni Etiam collection are designed as physical products only. I do not sell licenses for my photographs to be used, reproduced or modified by others. If you have special requests for a digital photo that is not part of the collection (e.g., if you would like a type of photo for your organization or blog), please send me an e-mail.
Yes! You could choose from various sizes. If a size is not listed, just send me a message specifying which image you would like in which size, so that I could let you know whether it is feasible and give you a customized quote. In some cases, not every size is possible due to cropping (e.g., square) or orientation (e.g., if the image is in vertical orientation) or due to resolution (e.g., if you are looking to go bigger than what is listed online).
Of course! That is one of my goals. If you are confused by the options or are unsure about how a style would fit the chosen image or your style of décor, just drop me a line. I’d be happy to assist you.
Generally-speaking, go with your gut and don't be afraid to take the plunge. I work hard to ensure that you will LOVE what you order and that what you see/read is what you get!

If you’re unsure of whether something fits your style of decor or an existing gallery wall, feel free to e-mail me a photo of what you are trying to match, and I will give you my advice! If you are looking to build a gallery wall, please ask for help and I can send you previews to help you mix and match prints.
YES! I do sell frames with my art prints but I only offer simple wooden frames (in black or white) without a mat. If this is what you want, please be sure to select the FRAMED ART listing for purchase. Unless otherwise specified, if you order a fine-art print, it comes unframed (packaged in cellophane with a cardboard backing).

If you prefer a different kind of frame, stores like Michael's, De Serres or Ikea might work for you. If you are in Montreal, I recommend custom framers like Affiche en Tête for your frame design needs.

If you order a canvas or aluminum (metal) print, you may select a framing option. Customize your order by sending me a message.
Unfortunately, no. I only print my own photography as wall decor or accessories.
All wall-art and fine-art prints are created, printed and packaged in Canada. The photographs are taken around the world!
Yes, I do event or portrait photography. If time allows and expectations fit with what I can comfortably deliver, I am happy to provide this service in Montreal. Please e-mail me for requests!

Unfortunately, I do not offer commercial photography services (e.g., product shoots or product photography for websites) at the moment.
