This is an Alphabet Quilt pattern that uses traditional patchwork piecing to create each block.
The Ribbon Letters pattern includes instructions to create a quilt block for each letter of the alphabet, and instructions to create a 50" x 56" throw quilt.
Each individual alphabet letter block is 5” x 8” block (finished).
The pattern was inspired by vintage ribbons, with each letter designed to appear to be created by the bends and folds of a two-toned ribbon ... a great way to play around with dimension using different prints and shades in your fabric.
Beginner friendly - if you are comfortable with half-square triangles, you can make this quilt. No paper piecing, templates, or tracing!
Change up the layout, add borders, or use individual blocks from your alphabet quilt pattern to make a:
- banner
- personalized stockings
- mini quilt for a child’s door
- twin-sized quilt
Fabric requirements:
- Ribbon letters: 1.5 yards of mixed fabrics
- Background: 3.25 yards
- Backing: 3.5 yards
- Binding 0.5 yards
