“The sky is already purple; the first few stars have appeared, suddenly, as if someone had thrown a handful of silver across the edge of the world.”

― Alice Hoffman

----------

Drop (minus hook) = 9.5 inches

Length (nose to tail) = 8 inches

Width (side to side) = 5 inches

-The Violet Aether balloon features a blown glass (elongated) globe mottled in purples and white, suspended in a cage of antique copper-colored chain. The tail assemblage is primarily made up of various filigree findings, holding and guiding coiled wire from the large antique silver-colored propeller all the way down to the "power converter" and turnkey in the basket (please note that while you may gently spin the propeller manually, this is not actually a -powered- device). Swaths of antique silver-colored chain run down each side, finishing off this dapper dirigible.

-Each of our unique balloons is handcrafted from a combination of upcycled/found objects and new components.

-Build time varies depending upon complexity of design, but on average each piece takes 8 to 18 hours to complete. This one, in particular, took upwards of 20 hours.

-Each balloon comes with a cold-worked copper hook for use in hanging.
