This was a really hard pattern to follow. First of all, the amount listed for buckram is far too low; I had to go back to the store to get a whole extra cut. Secondly, the pattern is really hard to understand. It doesn't follow norms used by patternmakers, so it doesn't read like any other pattern you've ever used. There were not enough pictures to illustrate the fairly confusing steps, and the photos that were included were white on white on white, so there was not enough context to understand the orientation of the pieces. My seam ripper got a workout in making this. I am not a beginner - I've taken classes at fit and I cosplay regularly. I even designed and sewed my own wedding dress... And I still had a heck of a time constructing this hat.

Great pattern. Very easy to follow and the end result was a great replica and of very good craftsmanship. I've never sewn from a pattern in my life and had no problems.

Instructions were well written and easy to follow - definitely not for beginners but great for those with sewing experience. My wings look amazing :)

Great pattern, very easy to follow. An amazing tutorial complete with a few visuals comes with it. The whole thing is so well thought out and thorough. I’m a beginner with sewing larger items so it is absolutely perfect. I’m so pleased with the quality of everything. I can’t wait to begin making my costume! Thank you so much!!

Very easy to sew. A few instructions could be a bit clearer in terms of measuring from specific points, but Queen of Spandex responded to clarify within the day. I would also recommend that a smaller seam allowance could be used for those already very comfortable with a sewing machine. In the end I used the pattern as is, with lining, only dropping and shortening the arm holes by a few inches. Would (and have) recommend. Praise be.
