Priape's wand

Priape's wand is a wand used especially at Imbolc, to tell nature to wake up. It is a revival ritual to call on spring. During a walk in the forest, we can simply shake the stick, or hit it gently in our hand or directly on the tree trunks. You can also pass it on dead twigs on the way.

The wand represents a symbol of fertility. Traditionally it represented the phallus of the Greek god (Priapus), the god of fertility. Over time, the symbolism around the wand has changed and we now use it as a more modern and festive object. The addition of the jingels is rather recent. This seasonal ritual has become an activity that appeals to people of all ages. The intention is to communicate to nature that we look forward to its greenery and that we give it the strength it takes to resist the last intense cold.

Do not forget ... Performed in the silence of nature, the beautiful music of the jingles may awaken those for whom it is intended :)
