Description

An original ink and watercolour miniature painting that shows that even on a rainy day, the French region of Provence is still a charmer!

Upon reaching the village of Saint-Paul de Vence, the clouds gathered and the skies opened up with rain. After waiting in the covered car park for the worst of the downpour to pass, we headed out onto the narrow streets to explore the village. Old stone buildings repurposed as shops and galleries, beautiful bougainvillea and flowering vines, colourful rocks embedded into the cobblestone streets - it was so gorgeous and romantic in the rain!

Each 2.5" x 3.5" painting is created from a personal travel photo and lovingly recreated in an illustrative style first as a detailed ink drawing and then painted with vibrant watercolours... often with the aid of a magnifier.

* 2.5" x 3.5"
* 140 lb archival quality watercolour paper
* Permanent ink
* Professional grade watercolours
* Set in a 4" x 6" acid-free white mat with black core; ready for framing
* Ships in a clear protective bag, placed within a padded envelope with board to help prevent bending in transit

I can turn your travel photos and memories into an original ink and watercolour piece, too. Contact me for details in a conversation here or on my website, artwewonderful.com.

FAQs

I would be glad to create a piece for you of one of your travel memories. Please contact me about a commission at my website.

Please note there are no returns on commissioned pieces once shipped.
You own the original piece, but I still retain copyright and reproduction rights. I may reproduce this image in some other form (i.e. a printed item, shop promotion), however you cannot use or reproduce the image of the piece without first asking for my permission.
I leave the framing and wrapping up to you. Pieces are sent mounted in standard sized mats and then sealed within a protective clear bag. You can give it as a gift as-is or remove from the bag for framing.
These pieces are not treated with any fixatives, so to protect them from damage, they should be framed behind glass.
Once framed, keep them out of steamy rooms - no bathrooms!
Once framed, it's a good idea to keep them off of cold exterior walls to avoid condensation.
Also, avoid hanging them on walls that get a lot of direct sunlight unless you buy a frame with UV-reflective glass.
Throughout the year, I do participate in various art shows and fairs where my original pieces are available for sale. If an artwork is sold at one of these events, it is immediately removed from my Etsy shop.
The art pieces do not have price stickers on them. However if you are shipping directly to a gift recipient, especially internationally from Canada, the content and value of the shipped goods must be noted on the exterior of the package.
If you do not wish the gift recipient to know the value of the gift, ship it to yourself, and then you can pass it along to the recipient.
