This lovely yarn is next-to-skin soft, and was spun from a 70/30 blend of Haunui New Zealand Halfbred wool and Mulberry silk. Hand dyed in a gradient from silvery white to golden yellow through red and rich burgundy, I decided to Navajo ply this skein to keep the colors intact. A perfect yarn for a shawlette or scarf, as your finished item will drape beautifully from the high silk content.

Beautiful 23.5 micron Haunui New Zealand Halfbred wool is from a specialist flock in South Canterbury, New Zealand. Over 25 years of intensive crossbreeding of NZ Halfbred (substantially, a merino style breed) and Romney have gone into creating this premium wool. Typical NZ Halfbred character offers merino loftiness with a bit of longwool lustre.

This listing is for one skein of fingering weight yarn as shown.

Blend contains:
70% Haunui NZ Halfbred wool
30% Mulberry silk

396 yds
3.6 oz
19-22 wpi

This yarn was spun on my Lendrum ST wheel in a smoke free, pet friendly environment.

This yarn will felt, so if that's not your intention, be sure to handwash your finished garment gently in cool water and lay flat to dry.

If you would like it in a center pull ball, please let me know during checkout.
