Balancing Bananas Game of Skill

BALANCING BANANAS is a fun family game for ages 3 and up. Give the monkey bananas to balance without letting them fall off!

Lasercut Contents:
• One wooden monkey
• Two sets of banana leaves and two connectors
• 15 yellow acrylic bananas
• 15 green acrylic bananas
• Counterweight
• Die roll legend
• One die
• Three rubber bands
• Anti-slip mat
• Wooden box.

Some Assembly Required: Attach the connectors to the monkey’s hands, then attach one leaf set to each hand. Carefully assemble the counterweight and tighten with a rubber band. Collect four to eight coins (loonies, toonies, dollars or quarters) and insert into the counterweight.

Setup:
Place the anti-slip mat near the edge of your table. Attach two rubber bands to the counterweight (with coins) and attach to the monkey’s tail. Place the monkey’s feet on the mat. The free-swinging monkey will now be nicely balanced.
Balance Adjustments: You can use six to ten coins and any of the three slots for the rubber band to control balance. Note that using fewer coins makes the monkey ”tippier”, while more coins makes it more stable. Adjust as needed.

Game Play:
In turn, each player will …
1. Roll the die
2. Carefully place one or more bananas where indicated, either on the edge of a leaf or on top (rolls 1-4) or even on the monkey itself (rolls 5 or 6).
When the monkey loses its balance and all or most of the bananas fall off, the game is over.
As a fun game of skill, there is no winner or loser, just lots of laughs!
Don’t let the monkey hit the floor – it’s a bit delicate. Playing over carpeting is ideal in case the monkey slips and falls.

For added fun, use other small objects like coins to balance on the leaves.

Green vs Yellow:
With the expanded set, two players compete to maintain the most bananas. No die roll is required. Each player takes 25 bananas and take turns placing bananas of their colour. Fallen bananas are out of the game. When all players’ bananas have been placed, the player with the most hanging bananas is the winner.
