Hum is a 16 page, 2-colour risograph printed book, soft to the touch and pocket friendly, created by Tasman Richardson and Brigitte Bardon't (Kristel Jax). Each issue maps and poetically details three resonant spots for audio in Toronto, Canada.
Issue #1, Summer 2020, is printed in coral pink and hunter green by Vide Press in a limited edition of 30 on off-white, matte, uncoated, 60lb paper, staple-stitched.
Hum's Summer 2020 issue is a walking tour of Toronto's Queen West West neighbourhood. The drones range from mysterious, high frequency hums from above, to rattling industrial rumbles from below. The walk will take about an hour or two, depending how much you stand still.
In a time where acessing live music is challenging at best, Hum offers readers an IRL concert experience, a chance to get outside, and, may we HUMbly say, a different way of listening.
