This is my original pattern for a one-of-a-kind heirloom afghan. The pattern contains several beautiful and unique cabled knitting motifs and textures that come together for a stunning blanket. This project is knit in 5 pieces and seamed together at the end for a beautiful bedspread or large throw.

Finished dimensions: approximately 50in x 64in

Materials needed:
- approx 3800 yd worsted weight yarn
- US7/4.5mm knitting needles

Please Note: This purchase is for the pattern only, not the finished afghan. The pattern is in PDF format, so you will need Adobe Reader or another PDF viewer to open the file. Pattern will be available to download once payment is confirmed.

This pattern is so pretty and really easy to follow once you get the knack down. It's also a great opportunity to practice cabling skills since it's practically a sampler of different cable styles. I don't have a finished product yet, but I've really enjoyed working on this pattern so far. One thing I would caution for those working this pattern is to make sure you read and re-read the instructions - all of them. Also, if you prefer to use a chart (like I do), make sure you couple it with the written instructions, too. Some of the panels are stockinette and some are not, so you can't really go on auto-pilot with the chart by itself. (I tried but had to rip my work out a couple of times before I figured out what I was doing wrong. :) )
