Description

These porcelain lunch plates are modern classics. The stamped polka dots resemble moons that dance across the plate to the luscious red rim. They're fun and a punchy and are a pleasure to eat from.

The story of the Luna plate: I had taken a break from making slab plates for a while, choosing to throw them on the wheel instead. In the spring/early summer I stabbed myself with a pair of scissors while working in the studio (I promise I wasn't running with scissors). While a tetanus shot and a round of antibiotics took care of the infection I had some pretty severe pain for a a while and throwing was out of the question. This ended pretty well, actually, because it gave me the push to hand build plates again and I really enjoy making them (I have a few at home and I usually wash them by hand so I can reuse them asap because they make me happy). To accompany this plate, I also made Luna Noodle/Poke/Salad/Serving bowls, which you'll find in another of my listings. And of course, there's also smaller Luna cereal/soup bowl to add to the set.

The underside of these plates are partly glazed and I sand the unglazed portion to a smooth finish.

Dimensions: 3/4" high x 8 1/2" wide (approximate)

Materials: porcelain, underglaze, shiny glaze.

Dishwasher and microwave safe.

Handmade in my studio in Montreal, Canada.

Each piece is made individually, is one of a kind, and may vary slightly in size, shape, color, texture and design.

Photo with bowl and larger dish is to indicate the relative size to these items that are not included in this listing but are available for sale in other listings.

Overturned signed bowl is for reference only and is not included for sale in this listing

Shipping policies

I try my hardest to stick to the processing time in my listings. In the event that I cannot ship the product in time (because there are so many things that can go wrong with ceramics!) I will inform the buyer.

I send my parcels regular mail. The signature confirmation and tracking options are not always available at the posted price. If you would like these upgrades please specify and I will adjust the shipping costs and charge you accordingly.

Delivery for in stock items can take up to 10 business days.
Larger orders take 2-3 weeks to make and then up to 10 days for delivery.

I reuse and recycle shipping materials as much as possible. That means that I will use boxes that are solid but may have traces of their past. I pack my ceramics in a lot of bubble wrap in order to ensure that nothing moves in the box and that you receive your order in one piece. This bubble wrap is recycled too.

If you are planning on ordering combined or multiple items, please contact me through a conversation or through email so that I can calculate the appropriate shipping cost. If you do not contact me I will charge the shipping price in your transaction.
Please note that customers are responsible for any customs, duty and taxes and fees that may be incurred.
