Nuri is the founder of CandyCorn Studios. After practicing for 8 years on and off, she finally has a drawing style she likes. She never had the chance to take any art classes, so everything she does is just practice and online tutorials. Recently she has taken a more active interest in the art scene at conventions, taking over the Artist Alley for Animazement in NC and attending various panels on the subject at other cons. She no longer runs the AA at Animazement, but continues to seek out professional Artists for interviews and chats.

In January 2006, she was searching the podcast directories for anything related to geeky art…something about gaming art, anime/manga style art, fantasy art, etc. To her great surprise, nothing came up! So she decided, although not the most experienced artist out there, that she could start her own. What better way to learn about art then to pick topics, discuss the ones you’re familiar with, and research the ones you aren’t? With a few minor tools (and some microphones donated by a friend for free…thanks Efenwealt!), she created a crude recording setup and dragged some friends into being co-host and readers. In February 2006, the Artist Alley Podcast went live.

Now she’s got more hobbies than any reasonable person should, including the podcast, a webcomic, a jewelry business, game nights, and a day job. Oh yes, and doing some minor promotion here and there. At least, that’s what she likes to use as her excuse to visit conventions.
