About AmpersandEtAl

Sales 30
On Etsy since 2013

I've been crafting forever.

AmpersandEtAl is owned and operated by me, Barbara Mackenzie and my sister Marya Zajac. We are both self taught artists, retired from our day jobs and living in a small town in southern Manitoba.

Always interested in art and artisan crafts we financed our university education by making and marketing hand made articles at craft fairs and flea markets. This was in the 70's. One of the big decorating items was vases of dried grasses and other plant materials. Our first foray into a craft fair venue was with bouquets of dyed grasses and other plant material. We had driven out of town and picked armloads of phragmites and other dried grasses. We dyed them a rainbow of colours and made up bouquets, wrapping each in coloured cellophane. Our bathroom and kitchen were disasters but the bouquets sure were pretty. We went on the produce a line of dolls in historical or national dress, and stuffed animals. We experimented with paper mache , clay, and embroidered items. Making art was left behind at graduation as we were both seduced by the business word.
But we are now back doing what we both love.

At this time we will be offering for sale, original acrylic or watercolour pieces of art, prints, art cards, altered book. art, handmade journals, mixed media art and assemblage. We will also have a line of vintage items including books and jewellry
