About

Retirement certainly isn't boring!

Only one month after leaving my 36 years as an animal care technician, I was told by a local painter, "You should make driftwood horses." Just like that. Out of the blue. Yes, she knew I liked to collect interesting bits of driftwood and that horses are my life, but I said, "No way. I'm finding it hard to find enough time to write as it is."
Then I looked at one of my bits of wood and didn't it look just like the hind legs of a horse? Well that was it. It took me several tries to improve technique and find my grove, but there's no turning back now. Putting life and movement into odd sticks tossed up by the ocean has become a passion.
That and my horses, my writing, my music and ...painting. I've taken to painting the wonderful beach stones I collect when looking for driftwood. They may show up on here yet!
