Announcement    Shipping may take longer than usual due to COVID-19, please be patient, we are all in this together ✨

We are all healthy here (I have a roommate and two 😻😻) and genuinely appreciate your support of my small business - it is my only source of income and tough times are ahead, so thank you 😘

**Please note: Canada Post has stopped accepting shipments to a number of countries (mostly in Europe) - I’m guessing you would also know that your country isn’t allowing shipments, but I will have to contact you to see if you would like to delay shipment or cancel 😢**

About AtomicAgeVintageShop

Sales 802
On Etsy since 2013

I love it all!

I have been collecting things for over 20 years - back before vintage was vintage (when it was just "old stuff"). I love to rescue things from certain death at the landfill and to bring new life to things that other people think are worthless.

I've taught myself some upholstery as a necessity; the best gift I've bought myself in recent years was a pneumatic stapler!

Some of my favourite things are kitchen bits and bobs, including table sets. It's possible I have ten in my "keep" pile at any given time...

So grateful that I was able to turn this love of vintage and upcycling into my full time job. Thanks for coming along for the ride :)

A love of collecting for myself naturally progressed into an etsy store when I realized I couldn't possibly use all of my treasures, even if I bought myself 5 more houses! Please check back as it will take me a while to list all of my treasures :)

Shop policies

Thanks for visiting! I love words, so please excuse so many of them in my policies ;) That said, I'm always happy to answer questions before you make your purchase so please always feel free to send a message. I believe I've covered everything in detail and if you read item descriptions and policies we should both end up happy. Please note that some items have a choice of quantity/colour/pattern etc and may be priced separately. I often use props in my photos, unless it explicitly states in the description that an item is included in the sale, it is not.

Returns and exchange details
All items are pre-owned so therefore sold as-is, what you see is what you get! Please READ THE DESCRIPTION, examine photos closely, and ask questions before purchasing. A certain amount of wear is expected on vintage items; if you are the type who examines things with a magnifying glass for flaws, please know that I assess them with a slightly more critical eye than a "man on the street" but I am not describing things to magnifying glass standards because every item would sound far worse than it is. Returns only accepted if there is a major discrepancy between the description and the product received.

EU Buyers: You have 14 days from receipt of purchase to contact me regarding returns rather than 3.
Local Buyers (who opt for free local pickup): You have 7 days from purchase to pick up your item unless prior arrangements are agreed upon; after 7 days a storage fee of $3/day will apply, to be paid upon pickup. You may request return only at time of pickup.
All other buyers: Return shipping will be at the expense of the buyer and must include insurance that covers loss and breakage; you must also be able to provide proof of shipping (such as tracking).
Payment
Canadian residents I will also accept Interac money transfers - please contact me for today's rate in Canadian, payment must be made within 24 hours by this method. I will adjust listing for you to pay by this method.

*Important notes regarding shipping!!* PLEASE READ IT ALL (Sorry for so many words!) :) Including why I don’t do “free” shipping.

**Most if my listings use calculated shipping, with no handling fee (excludes items that can ship in an envelope - they have their own price points based on weight) this ultimately means the most accurate shipping costs for you, the buyer, and makes it easy to choose the shipping method you prefer**

***Just like every other website out there - I am not responsible for any import duties/taxes etc. that may be charged by your country***

My calculated shipping listings are created using rates from Canada Post, please visit their website (www.canadapost.ca) for specific questions and policies, please note that information I may give is based on my personal experiences and interpretations only.

As a general rule, you should feel comfortable choosing the cheapest shipping option; for US customers please note that “Small Packet” and “Tracked Packet” generally take the same amount of time to arrive, you’re just paying a lot to be able to track it. For customers outside of Canada/USA, once a package hits about 500g “Small Packet - Air” starts to get more expensive; I’ll leave it up to you to choose if you want speed (about 2-3 weeks) or to save some money (up to 3 months - “Surface International”) When I create my listings I have an approximate idea as to what the package will weigh when all is said and done (I don’t fully pack in case someone has additional questions and I need to see the item - my packing job takes a lot to unpack!) but very occasionally I’m off by a little bit which might bump it up or down a weight class. Sometimes this calculation error will be in my favour, sometimes in yours. We will just chalk it up to “life happens”.

WHAT ABOUT COMBINED SHIPPING?
Glad you asked that! Sometimes combining shipping saves you a lot, sometimes it doesn't - it depends on the size of the box and the arbitrary weight tipping points (500g, 1kg etc). PLEASE PAY FOR YOUR ITEMS AND THEIR STATED SHIPPING AND KNOW THAT I WILL REFUND ANYTHING OVER THE FIRST $2.

WHY I DON’T DO “FREE” SHIPPING
Shipping isn’t free. It costs money. If I build the cost of the “free” shipping in to the item a number of things happen.
1. I can’t effectively offer combined shipping, meaning you’re sort of punished for buying more than one thing from me at a time. Thats just weird.
2. If your country imposes duty/taxes on your purchase you will pay it on the amount including the shipping, not just the item
3. Being a small business, I operate on small margins. I would have to factor in what the highest cost would be to ship, effectively making some people overpay. I’m not into that, I strive to be fair.

DAMAGE DURING SHIPPING
I typically aim to pack like Ace Ventura himself was to be delivering your packages (google that if you don't know, it's good for a laugh!). If your package does arrive broken, please take photos of the damaged packaging, ideally before and during the opening process and save all packaging. I will need you to provide these photos in order to make an insurance claim; failure to fill out required paperwork from the insurance company may also result in claim not being able to be paid out.

I USE A MIX OF NEW AND RECYCLED SHIPPING MATERIALS - this means I am able to pass the savings on to you whenever possible in lower costs on my items.

IF YOU HAVE SPECIFIC CONCERNS REGARDING SHIPPING PLEASE CONVO ME FIRST.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

Most, if not all, of the items I sell are vintage. This means that in some cases, depending on the finish/fabric that even water may damage the item. Items are sold as-is and unfortunately I cannot be responsible for damage that may occur if you attempt to clean an item. That said, I try to be very up front about item condition in all descriptions so you know what you're getting into!

Combined shipping

Of course I combine shipping! Please read full shipping policies for more details.

Sizing details

Clothing items:
Most items are measured lying flat. Should there be things like bust darts I will try to make note of my impressions of how that impacts size. Please always feel free to send me a message to ask for more details so you can feel confident in your purchase.
Qualifiers like S/M/L/etc are an impression only since no universal standard sizing exists.

Non-clothing items:
All measurements are approximate. Meaning, of course I have a general grasp of how to use a tape measure, but sometimes it's hard to get a precise number. If the item you are considering has an ultra specific sized space that it must fit into, please let me know and have me reconfirm measurements before purchasing.

Why do you have so many words on everything?

Well, simply put, because I have to prepare for the most absurd things that might come up. Ask any friend you have that sells online for their "war stories"!
