You can make it: Easy to sew patterns turn “I wish I could” into “I made it!”
I design easy sew patterns with extra information for those new to sewing. Patterns listed as "experienced beginner" means it is expected that you know how to follow a pattern and how to operate your sewing machine.
I aim to make patterns that can be sewn on most home sewing machines. You don’t need a fancy machine and with the right fabric, foam and needle choices, you should be able to sew my patterns on any machine.
I would recommend the Easy Toy Onbuhimo as a first sewing project.
The Buckle Onbuhimo Toddler Carrier and the Onbuhimo Toy Doll Carrier are listed as "intermediate" given the increased skill required for sewing through layers of foam and fabric.

5 out of 5 starsWhat a great little pattern. I easily made 5 in one afternoon. I went slow on the first one and struggled in one spot, but took my time and figured out all the kinks for the next 4. I highly recommend this pattern. They are gifts so haven’t seen the kiddos use them yet, but I know they will be a big hit! I added interfacing (sf101) to all pieces and fusible fleece to the outer main panel and straps. It gave it great structure.
The shop owner was great when I asked which pattern was best for my skill level and children’s ages. She responded quickly and was very helpful. I would definitely buy from her again. -

5 out of 5 starsPattern is beautiful and easy to follow! I did change how the straps attach because I wanted them to be adjustable.

5 out of 5 starsThis was easy to make for a novice (that knows how to run a sewing machine). I used it for my 35 lbs 3 year old on a hike and it worked great!

5 out of 5 starsI made two of these carriers for my preschoolers. The pocket design makes it so easy for them to carry smaller baby dolls. I’m super happy with the results.

About BabyBondaProductions
You can make it: unlock your potential to sew projects you love.

My friends call me "Bonda" and my creations "Bonda Productions" which was the early start of Baby Bonda Productions. When my oldest was a few months old, he didn't sleep well at night but consistently had several long naps each day which allowed me time to sew and create. I started with affordable wetbags, wipes and cloth liners for friends and was soon selling on Etsy.
One of my early soft structured carriers I sewed for myself was very similar to a popular carrier with waist support. When a high back carrier grew in popularity, I designed and sewed my own to prove that it couldn't be comfortable without waist support and instead proved myself wrong! And the Wonbu (Wanda made Onbu) was born. This is not a proper use of Onbu which is a concept and Onbuhimo a traditional Japanese carrier as explained in this article --> https://www.babywearing.jp/blog/2016/08/17/486
I hope you enjoy creating as much as I have enjoyed making these patterns to share!

I love to sew and quilt! My interests are constantly changing as my children grow. Babywearing has been an important part of that journey. I love how wrap scrap creations mix two important parts of me.

Frequently asked questions
What level of sewing experience do I need to sew your patterns?
I design easy sew patterns with extra information for those new to sewing. Patterns listed as “experienced beginner” means it is expected that you know how to follow a pattern and how to operate your sewing machine.
I would recommend the Easy Toy Onbuhimo as a first sewing project.
The Buckle Onbuhimo Toddler Carrier and the Onbuhimo Toy Doll Carrier are listed as “intermediate” given the increased skill required for sewing through layers of foam and fabric.
Do I need a special sewing machine?
I aim to make patterns that can be sewn on most home sewing machines. You don’t need a fancy machine and with the right fabric, foam and needle choices, you should be able to sew my patterns on any machine.
Are you looking at buying a new sewing machine and want to get the most bang for your buck? Check out "Which sewing machine do I need?" on my blog for key features of different sewing machines.
Can I sell the products I make with your patterns?
Yes, you are welcome to sell toy and other items, that are not babywearing carriers, made from my patterns. I ask that you include a note about the item being a ‘Baby Bonda Productions Design’ on the tag and a link to my website “www.babybondaproductions.com” or to “www.babybondaproductions.etsy.com” in online listings.
If you would like to sell babywearing carriers made from my patterns, please contact me first as there are additional considerations to address.
Are your carrier patterns compliant?
Carrier compliance with safety regulations is based on much more than the pattern. It encompasses compliance of materials used in construction, tracking of finished products, labeling and physical testing of the product. It is not required, nor is it feasible, for a sewing pattern to be compliant. If you are planning on selling babywearing carriers, I highly recommend you join BCIA (Baby Carrier Industry Alliance) for information on meeting baby carrier regulations.
I didn't realize I purchased a pattern, not a finished product. Can I return it?
Due to the nature of PDF patterns all sales are final and may not be returned. Each pattern listings states that this is a pattern, not a finished item and it is stated several other places in my shop. I do welcome suggestions on how to improve listings to clarify the item is a pattern, not a finished item.
